James Fugit

Strategic Partner – James Fugit joined Battle Group as a Strategic Partner in 2019, having previously served on its advisory board from 2016-2019. He currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of ARCTOS, a provider of solutions – including research and development, technical services, and products (software tools, advanced materials/additive manufacturing, and similar products) – to aerospace, defense, and intelligence customers (www.arctos-us.com).

Prior to joining Battle Group, James co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of ARMA Aviation Corporation, a provider of logistics, supply chain management, maintenance-repair- overhaul (MRO), and training and mentoring to the US government and its allies, which merged with ARCTOS in 2019 (www.arma-aviation.com). He was also the co-founder of ARMA Global Corporation, a provider of information technology, engineering, and technical support to defense and government customers, and helped build ARMA Global from a handful of employees at inception in 2008 to over 800 employees in 2014 when it was sold to General Dynamics Information Technology.

From 2008-2014, James led ARMA Global’s Business Operations group, as well as ARMA Aviation Corporation. Prior to founding ARMA, James served as a Program Director at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems with responsibility for providing aviation and defense material, logistics and services to U.S. allies in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Georgia, and the Philippines. Before that, he served as the Senior Program Manager at Tower Automotive, responsible for the engineering, design, and delivery of the underbody sheetmetal content for the redesigned Ford 500 and Freestyle.

James is a Ranger, Pathfinder, and Airborne-qualified former U.S. Army officer. He enlisted in the Army as a light infantryman with the 29th Infantry Division. Following his commissioning as an Armor officer, he served as a platoon leader, executive officer, aide-de- camp, S3-air, and company commander during his service in the 1-509th Parachute Infantry Regiment (Airborne), the 3rd Brigade-4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), the Joint Readiness Training Center, and the 38th Infantry Division.

James is a member of the Tampa Bay Committee on Foreign Relations, the Young President’s Organization, and the James Madison University Center for Entrepreneurship.

He earned a BA degree from James Madison University in International Affairs and an MBA degree from the University of Florida.
