Scott Starrett

Strategic Partner – Scott Starrett joined Battle Group as a Strategic Partner in 2021. In this role, Scott supports the Firm’s aerospace efforts across partner company governance and strategy development, as well as investment sourcing, assessment and due diligence.

Scott retired in late 2020 after a 40-year career in a number of leadership positions at Honeywell, Sikorsky (Lockheed Martin), and most recently StandardAero. His deep aerospace experience includes:

  • StandardAero – Scott joined StandardAero in 2016 as President of its Military and Energy Sector. He was responsible for all elements of global Strategy/Growth, Operations and Profit & Loss. Under Scott’s leadership the business grew 4X in a four- year period through an intense focus on new product expansion, large program capture, and extraordinary volume extensions with key customers.
  • Sikorsky Aircraft (A Lockheed Martin company) – Scott joined Sikorsky in 2008 as President of its $4.5 billion Military Systems business. He was responsible for all aspects of growth and operations in support of DoD and global customers. Key product lines included the Blackhawk and Naval Hawk platforms, as well as heavy lift and the Presidential Helicopter. In 2011 Scott moved to Washington DC to lead Sikorsky’s Business Development and Government Relations organization. While in this position his team captured over $10 billion of new business, launched the platform solution for Future Vertical Lift, and formed strategic partnership with Lockheed Martin and Boeing.
  • Honeywell – Scott joined Honeywell in 1981 in their Systems and Research Center. Over his 27 year career at Honeywell his global leadership positions included Vice President of Business Development- Space Systems, VP/GM Commercial Avionics, VP/GM Defense & Space, and VP/GM Military Aircraft. His work at Honeywell spanned from advanced development through sustainment programs and markets.

Scott provides advisory services to aerospace customers and is a coach volunteer at The First Tee, an organization focused on life skill development for young people through golf. He earned his BBA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Graduate Certificate in Government Contract Management from the University of St. Thomas.
