Vice Admiral Dean Peters, USN (Retired)

Strategic Partner – Vice ADM. Peters joined Battle Group as a Strategic Partner in 2023.  As a highly decorated naval officer, Vice Adm. Peters brings over 36 years of distinguished military service as well as recognized subject matter expertise in aerospace technology, naval warfare, defense acquisition, and national security.  

During his final assignment as Naval Air Systems Command (“NAVAIR”) Commander, a 3-Star Flag Officer (Vice Admiral), he led Naval Aviation’s technical, acquisition and financial management enterprise, consisting of over $50B in annual procurement and 45,000 employees.  Vice Adm. Peters previous flag assignments included Commander of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division; Assistant NAVAIR Commander for Research and Engineering; and Program Executive Officer of the Air Anti-Submarine Warfare, Assault and Special Mission Programs.  In addition, he also held program manager roles for the Presidential Helicopter and H-60 Helicopter.  Other major assignments include Commanding Officer of the Air Test and Evaluation Squadron TWO ONE and Chief Engineer of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Program.

His distinguished career included multiple deployments to the North Atlantic, Persian Gulf and Gulf of Mexico.  As a career helicopter pilot, he logged more than 3,800 flight hours on fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.

Vice Adm. Peters is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School.  He holds postgraduate degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and Telecommunications.
